Jonathan Phoinex
Jonathan Phoinex is the CEO and Creative Director of Phoinex Creative Works (PCW), where he leads a diverse team of artists, writers, and sound designers dedicated to bringing bold, story-driven audio and visual experiences to life.
As the Director and Writer of Valmont: The Black Raven Chronicles and Lead Writer for B.A.R.D., Jonathan’s creative vision blends rich world-building with cinematic storytelling. He also serves as the Producer and Host of The Carolina Storyteller, a podcast that celebrates Southern folklore, history, and the art of storytelling itself.
A passionate folklorist, voice actor, and author, Jonathan has penned several acclaimed works, including The Arsonist, Red Coats, and the upcoming Valmont: Fade to Black. His background in folklore and lived experience in the American South bring authenticity and heart to every project he undertakes.
Before founding PCW, Jonathan dedicated 17 years to public service as a Fire Training Captain and NFPA Instructor, experiences that shaped his discipline, leadership, and empathy as a creator. Since launching his first podcast in 2020 and publishing his debut book in 2021, he continues to inspire audiences through stories that ignite imagination and emotion.
