Fraser Sherman
Fraser graduated from college with a degree in biology, no interest in graduate school and no interest in a STEM career. What to do? He decided to try writing and wow, he liked it — even if he did endure a few grungy day jobs over the years to support himself.
Although born in England, Fraser spent most of his life in Northwest Florida. He’d be there still if he hadn’t met an amazing woman in 2008 and fallen in love. As she lived in Durham NC they did the long-distance thing for a couple of years, then he moved up there in 2010. They married in 2011 and they’re still together.
Fraser has published around fifty short stories, put in a decade covering city government as a reporter, and has written six film reference books, most recently The Aliens Are Here on extraterrestrial visitors in film and television. In 2022 he published his first novel, the steampunk fantasy Questionable Minds, and the nonfiction book Undead Sexist Cliches, dissecting the stupidity of misogynist arguments. In 2023 he published 19-Infinity, a collection of historical fantasy. He also founded his own publishing imprint, Behold the Book
Away from his computer he likes bicycling, comic books, fantasy novels, history books, vegetarian cooking, baking bread and triumphing over insomnia. He’s had multiple roles in community and college theater, his favorite being Malvolio in Twelfth Night. Most recently he appeared in a Medscape educational video as the man with intracranial bleeding who doesn’t want to go to the hospital.
